What can cause high testosterone levels in women other than pcos?
I have elevated levels of testosterone but my doctor had a lot of tests done and said that I do not have PCOS, (an ultrasound showed that I did not have any cysts) my question is what else could cause this and is it going to make it harder for me to get pregnant in the future?

It depends on how old you are. It could be an onset of premenopause.

What is disadvantages of high testosterone levels?
I wanted to buy supplements that increase muscles and i found out that they use testosterones. So is it OK to use it or does it have negative affects.

Depends on your age and what your levels are currently at. If you read the warning labels of the testosterone supplements, they say that it should not be taken by anyone under 18, read further and some also add not recommended for anyone under 40 years old. Mainly because the amount that they stuff into that pill is the amount a normal body is making between the ages of 13 and 21.
An overabundance of testosterone will cause the body to try and balance it out by increasing the other hormones that your body makes; and our body makes over 100 different kinds. Your main concern would be the increase of estrogen. an imbalanced increase in estrogen will cause premature hair loss, larger breasts, liver, kidney damage and penis shrinkage.
Then there’s pro hormones like DHEA, which activate your body to increase testosterone in a more natural way, but the only way to maximize these benefits is with doctors and some lab work; no different than taking testosterone, your levels need to be checked so that you don’t increase estrogen levels. Though doctors agree that 10-15 mg of DHEA is safe without doctor’s direction. And some doctors even recommend up to 50mg of DHEA if the recipient is over 40, but I found myself breaking out with pimples and oily skin, which is an indicator of too much testosterone, so I backed down to 25mg.
Read up on testosterone and DHEA on wikipedia before taking anything.

Good luck

JJ

If the testosterone levels are high in a male, will the desire for masturbation increase?
I have always pondered upon this question. Is it true that if you eat more vegetarian food, sleep late and have more soy, your testosterone levels go down and your masturbation desire also decreases?

What effect does high levels of testosterone have for a cyclist?
I’m referring to the Floyd Landis story, of course. I know increasing red blood cells increases oxygen flow to the muscles, but what effect does testosterone have? Does it increase endurance? Or stamina? Or strength? Or something else?

It increases all muscles growth, the way oxygen is absorbed by the blood cells, as well as how lactic acid is produced after a workout. Stamina, and motivation is increased 10x. CNN has just reported that when he finished racing, that instead of being over joyed and tired, he was wired and very angry as if he could punch a hole thru a wall. This aggression is sign numero uno of steroid use.

What are some signs that your body produces high amounts of testosterone?
Do men who produce large amounts of testosterone usually show physical signs of this? {Apart from physical strength}.

Are men who produce high amounts of testosterone more prone to depression? If so, why? I’m also curious to see if this is the cause of some impulse control problems. Do people with high amounts of testosterone feel less empathy & compassion? Any information is helpful, thankyou!

From my medical experiences, high amounts of testosterone in the body result in the growth of body hair, especially in the facial and “private” areas. High testosterone also results in deeper voices in men and women. I have not known it to affect depression – however, it may lead to a greater sense of protectiveness, since men are typically “protectors” and women are “nurturers” by nature.
